Talata Mafara LG Chair Defends Governor Lawal Against APC Chair

Hon. Yahaya Yari, the chairman of Talata Mafara local government area in Zamfara state, condemned statements made by Alhaji Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which alleged that Governor Dauda Lawal does not support party members. These remarks were reportedly made during an APC stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Gusau.

Yari described the allegations as false, disrespectful, and insulting to both the governor and his office. He pointed out that despite benefiting from Governor Lawal’s administration through an N87 million contract, Magaji has not provided similar support to grassroots members.

Yari warned that such comments could create disunity within the party and damage the government's image, which has been inclusive of all stakeholders. He affirmed that loyal APC members would no longer tolerate disrespect towards Governor Lawal, stating, “Such disrespect must stop.”.
