Jibrin Defends Wike Against APC Governors' Criticism

Abdulmumin Jibrin, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and federal lawmaker, called on aggrieved APC governors to cease public attacks on Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. Jibrin emphasized Wike's significant contributions to the political success of President Bola Tinubu, asserting that all APC members have benefited from Wike's efforts.

He defended Wike amid criticisms from governors such as AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State and Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who questioned Wike's role in building a national political coalition while being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. Jibrin argued that political actors from opposition parties can collaborate with the APC and highlighted Wike's sacrifices, including surrendering political structures for the party's benefit.

He urged direct dialogue between the governors and Wike to resolve differences, citing the APC's success in recent FCT Area Council elections as evidence of Wike's electoral value.
