Gombe Students Endorse Tinubu, Gwamna for Education Reforms

Students in Gombe State have expressed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, citing education interventions as a key reason. The students, organized under the JAGABA/INUWA Students’ Mandate 2027, announced the launch of their Campus Ambassadors initiative aimed at mobilizing students and fostering discussions on education, governance, and youth development.
Comrade Kasim Abubakar, the Convener, emphasized the initiative's focus on critical educational developments, including school infrastructure and teacher recruitment. The group noted that over 1.6 million applications for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) had been processed, with more than N322 billion disbursed to students.
They also highlighted the Gombe State government's commitment to education since 2019, reporting the construction of over 1,600 classrooms and the recruitment of more than 1,000 teachers, alongside significant improvements in examination performance.
