Sule Lamido Declares for PDP Chairmanship Amidst Controversy

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), rejecting the consensus approach. This move comes amidst controversy surrounding the reported adoption of former Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki as the party's northern choice, which has faced strong rejection from stakeholders in the North-West.

The PDP's upcoming National Elective Convention in November will determine the party's next national leadership. South-East PDP lawmakers have threatened to boycott the convention, citing alleged attempts to hijack positions.
