Nigeria Faces N543bn Annual Export Loss Due to Hazardous Pesticides Threatening Food System

The high-level summit in Lagos, organized by ActionAid Nigeria in collaboration with FMARD and NABG, highlighted the urgent concerns regarding hazardous pesticides affecting Nigeria's food security and rural livelihoods. The excessive use of pesticides has led to soil degradation, ecosystem weakening, and significant economic losses, including a ban on Nigerian beans by the EU in 2015.
