Éric Chelle Addresses Marseille Coaching Rumors

Éric Chelle, the current coach of the Super Eagles, responded to speculation linking him to a potential position at Olympique de Marseille. In an interview on the podcast "Histoire de Foot," Chelle clarified that the contact with the French club was initiated by his representatives rather than by the club itself.

He explained that his agency is exploring opportunities across Europe to advance his coaching career. Chelle emphasized that he neither requested public attention regarding the rumors nor participated in any shortlist process for the position.

He has been in charge of the Super Eagles since January 2025 under a two-year contract and successfully guided the team to a third-place finish in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Morocco.
