Former Super Eagles legend Taribo West shocked many when he abandoned his glamorous football career to become a pastor. The tough-tackling defender, known for his eccentric hairstyle, won accolades in the 1990s, playing for clubs like Auxerre and AC Milan.

Despite enjoying fame and fortune, Taribo retired in 2007 at the age of 33, following a powerful spiritual encounter where he heard God's voice instructing him to switch to ministry. This experience led him to establish a church in 2014.
