Super Falcons begin WAFCON campaign with 3-0 thrashing of Tunisia

The Nigeria Super Falcons began their campaign for a 10th Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title with a dominant 3-0 victory over Tunisia in their Group B opener. Goals from Asisat Oshoala, Rinsola Babajide, and Chiwendu Ihezuo secured the win for the Falcons.

Oshoala opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a header, while Babajide added another in stoppage time of the first half. Despite Tunisia briefly threatening with a penalty appeal in the 75th minute, the decision was overturned after a VAR review.

Substitute Ihezuo sealed the victory in the 84th minute with a volley inside the box. The win puts Nigeria at the top of Group B, with their next match against Botswana on Thursday.

Tunisia will face Algeria in their next fixture.
