Supreme Court Rules President Cannot Suspend Governors and Legislators During Emergencies

The Supreme Court of Nigeria declared that the President does not have the power to suspend governors and legislators during a state of emergency as per Section 305 of the Constitution. The case involved the suspension of officials in River State by President Bola Tinubu, which was challenged by the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
