Supreme Court Reinstates David Mark as ADC Chairman

On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Nigeria delivered a unanimous judgment reinstating David Mark as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and voiding an order from the Appeal Court that had derecognized him. The ruling, led by Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba, stated that the Appeal Court's order was issued without justification and was made in bad faith.

The Supreme Court's decision preserves the status quo ante bellum, affirming Mark's leadership as recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This judgment is anticipated to bolster the internal structure of the ADC as it prepares for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
