SWAN and Byblos Partner for Affordable Travel to World Cup

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Byblos Travel and Tour Nigeria Limited formalized a partnership through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in Abuja on Wednesday. This collaboration aims to significantly reduce the financial burden on sports journalists by offering discounted airfare, visa advisory services, and accommodation support as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The partnership will provide special travel packages for SWAN members over a period of 120 days, facilitating their participation in the tournament, which is expected to feature 48 nations, the largest in FIFA history. Mr.

Abubakar Nasrudeen, representing Byblos, expressed delight in partnering with SWAN to make international travel easier and more affordable for Nigerian sports journalists. Mr.

Abdulgafar Oladimeji, a former secretary of SWAN's Kano State chapter, commended the leadership of SWAN under Comrad Isaiah Benjamin for promoting the welfare and professional growth of its members.
