Expert Urges Government-Entrepreneur Collaboration for Africa's Digital Growth

Dr. Oluwole Asalu of Quomodo Systems Africa emphasized the need for collaboration between the government and entrepreneurs to drive growth-driven policies in Africa's digital economy.

The sector is projected to reach a valuation of $180 billion by 2025 and $712 billion by 2050. Asalu highlighted that sustained relationships between policymakers and business players are crucial to propel Africa's startup ecosystem to global relevance.

While lauding Nigeria's Startup Act 2022, he noted the importance of effective implementation, adequate funding, and addressing infrastructure challenges like broadband access and power outages to support sectors beyond fintech.
