Tanzania Election Protests: 700 Dead in Clashes Over Results Disqualification

In Tanzania, 700 protesters have been reported dead during demonstrations following the disqualification of a key opposition candidate in the presidential election. The protests, led by the main opposition party Chadema, erupted after the victory of President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.

The violence has resulted in clashes with security forces, internet shutdowns, curfews, and restrictions on foreign journalists. The death toll is estimated to be around 700, with casualties in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and other parts of the country.
