Tanzania Protests: Over 700 Dead, Nigerian Influencer Addresses False Reports

Following the disqualification of a key opposition candidate in Tanzania's presidential election, protests erupted resulting in over 700 deaths. The unrest was triggered by the election results favoring the incumbent president, Samia Suluhu Hassan of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.

Amid the chaos, false reports circulated on social media claiming that Tanzanian singer Juma Jux's luxury fashion store worth millions was destroyed during the protests. Nigerian influencer Bolaji Fesomad clarified the situation, explaining that the store was not destroyed but items were taken during the unrest.
