Tanzanians protested on Juma Jux's Instagram page following rumors of unrest in the country after the disqualification of a key opposition figure in the general elections. Nigerians defended the singer against allegations that his store was looted and burnt during the protests.

Juma Jux's wife, Priscilla, and actress Iyabo Ojo's daughter dismissed the claims, stating that the store was not burnt. Nigerian singer Davido also jokingly warned Tanzanian singer to take care.
