Taraba Governor Agbu Kefa Confirms Defection to APC, Sets Official Date

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefa has officially confirmed his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on November 19, 2025. The announcement was made during a visit to Jolli Nyam Stadium, emphasizing that the move is aimed at advancing the future of Taraba rather than personal gain.

The defection event is expected to witness the support of state executive council members, representatives of commissions, and other dignitaries. Kefa's decision comes amidst reports of financial incentives offered for the switch, with a total package of N250 billion per governor.

Several PDP governors have recently defected to opposition parties, signaling a broader political shift in the region.
