Nigerian House Minority Caucus Calls for Probe into Alleged Tax Law Distortions

The House Minority Caucus in Nigeria is seeking a deeper investigation into the alleged distortion of tax laws, pointing out discrepancies in the versions passed by the National Assembly. The caucus, led by Kingsley Chinda, formed a seven-man fact-finding committee chaired by Victor Ogen to examine the matter.

This move follows concerns raised by member AbdulSamad Dasuki about altered versions of tax laws being circulated. Speaker Tajudeen Abba has directed the release of four tax reform acts for public verification.

The caucus vows to protect the independence of the legislature and uphold democracy.
