TCN Schedules Maintenance at Ajaokuta Substation
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled an annual preventive maintenance exercise at its 330/132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Substation on September 15, 2026, from 9 am to 4 pm. This maintenance aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the transmission infrastructure.
TCN's technical crew will perform preventive maintenance on the 162MVA, 330/132kV power transformer, associated switchgear, and other ancillary equipment. The maintenance will impact electricity supply by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).
AEDC customers in areas such as Ekirin, Omuo, Ibillo, Akoko, Ogala, Ikare, Magongo, Okene Town, Ayere, and Kabba will experience disruptions. Similarly, BEDC customers in Okpella Town and surrounding areas, including BUA Cement Company and West African Fertilizer Company, will also be affected.
TCN assured customers that power supply would be restored after the maintenance and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
