TCN Starts Annual Maintenance at Sagamu Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) commenced scheduled annual preventive maintenance on two power transformers at the Sagamu Transmission Substation on Thursday, September 3, 2026. This maintenance exercise will continue on Friday, September 4, 2026, with work scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.

The maintenance involves routine checks on the T1 and T2 30MVA 132/33kV power transformers to ensure optimal performance and reliability. TCN indicated that this maintenance will temporarily disrupt electricity supply to some customers within the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) franchise area.

Specifically, customers supplied through the T1 transformer, including those in REAL and Sagamu, and those supplied through the T2 transformer, including CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique, and Babcock, will experience interruptions in electricity supply on September 4. TCN stated that the temporary disruption is necessary for the maintenance crew to perform essential checks and activities, assuring consumers that the exercise aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of power supply in the affected areas.
