The family of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has spoken out against the spread of inaccurate claims regarding her death, appealing to the public to disregard unverified information being shared across social media and online platforms. In a statement released through the actress's official Instagram account, the Awonuga/Osoba family expressed deep distress over the circulation of what they termed speculative and unauthorised accounts of the circumstances surrounding her passing.

Fellow actor Alesh Ola Sanni announced Osoba's death on Wednesday through an emotional Instagram post, describing her as a cherished sister. According to reports, Osoba had been battling breast cancer, with her diagnosis disclosed publicly roughly two years prior to her passing.

She was 40 years old. The actress underwent surgical treatment for the condition and subsequently returned to acting work before her death.

The family's statement emphasised that any official information regarding Osoba would be communicated exclusively through authorised channels. They requested privacy and understanding during what they characterised as a difficult period for the household.
