Zenith Bank Confirms Hackers Accessed Customer Data

Zenith Bank has confirmed that hackers gained unauthorized access to some of its customers' information, including email addresses and phone numbers. This announcement was made in a notice to customers on Wednesday.

The bank stated that it has initiated an investigation into the incident, which is part of a larger global cyberattack targeting various international organizations across multiple sectors. Customers had previously expressed concerns about unauthorized access to their information held by Zenith Bank.

This incident follows earlier reports in March, where it was noted that hackers also accessed customer data from other Nigerian banks, including Remita, Sterling Bank, and Providus Bank. In April, the Nigerian government pledged to investigate the data breaches, but no public updates on the findings have been released as of the current report.
