Tension in Edo as Oba Rejects Tinubu's Daughter's Iyaloja Title

Tension rises in Edo State as the Oba of Benin rejects the Iyaloja title installed by Pastor Josephine Ibhaguezejele, daughter of Bola Tinubu. The installation, done by Tinubu's daughter at the Government House in Benin, sparked controversy as it goes against Benin culture where every market is traditionally headed by an Iyeki.

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, clarified that the Iyaloja title is not part of their culture, leading to protests by market women. Patrick Osadalor, a culture enthusiast, emphasized that without the Oba's blessing, the Iyaloja could not function effectively, leaving the matter with no room for ambiguity.
