Onikoyi Royal Family Protests Installation of New Oba in Lagos Assembly, Citing Breach of Tradition

The Onikoyi Royal Family protested at the Lagos Assembly over the installation of Prince Kunle Fafunwa as the new Oba Onikoyi, claiming it breached tradition and agreements. Armed with placards, family members staged a peaceful protest outside the Lagos State House Assembly, demanding the halt of Fafunwa's coronation.

Adesoji Onikoyi expressed disappointment, insisting that Sulaimon Waliu Omogbolahan was the rightful heir based on the Onikoyi Chieftaincy Declaration of 2006. The family argued that the throne should rotate among ten branches, including Fafunwa's, with the current decision violating this rotation.
