Terence Vembe Appointed to IHF Arbitration Tribunal

Terence Vembe has been appointed as a member of the Arbitration Tribunal of the International Handball Federation (IHF), with the appointment effective from April 9, 2026. The appointment was confirmed in a letter signed by IHF President Dr.

Hassan Moustafa. Vembe, a trained lawyer, was considered for this role following a decision by the IHF Council, pursuant to a resolution from the IHF Congress that authorized the council regarding the arbitration tribunal, which serves as the highest appellate adjudicatory body within the IHF.

Vembe has a rich background in handball, having previously played for Nigeria's national handball team and served as the executive director of the Commonwealth Handball Association. He is also a founding partner at Anakerem Chamber Law Office and has experience in legal practice across civil and criminal litigation in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.

Vembe has been involved in grassroots sports development and has held various leadership roles in handball, including captaincy and coaching.
