Shehu Sani: Northern Terrorists and Bandits Are Northerners and Muslims

Former Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, highlighted that terrorists and bandits operating in the North East and North West regions of Nigeria are Northerners and Muslims, not foreigners. Sani emphasized the need for honesty in addressing the security situation in the North and proposed that leaders in Northern Nigeria take direct responsibility to tackle the security crisis.

He mentioned that the bandits in the North West have links to countries like Senegal, Mali, Morocco, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau, particularly the Fulani tribe. Sani also criticized the externalization of the security problem and called for a more proactive approach to combatting banditry and terrorism.
