Joint Task Force Rescues 31 Kidnapped Victims

On September 14 and 15, troops from the Joint Task Force North-West, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, conducted operations in Katsina and Kebbi states, resulting in the rescue of 31 kidnapped victims and the elimination of two terrorists, including a suspected kingpin. The Media Information Officer, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, reported that in Katsina, troops engaged terrorists in Funtua Local Government Area after receiving reports of abductions from Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities.

The engagement led to the recovery of ten kidnapped civilians, comprising three males and seven females, including an infant. In Kebbi State, troops responded to a distress call regarding abductions from Fafala Village in Kangiwa Local Government Area, resulting in a heavy exchange of gunfire and the rescue of 21 victims, who were later reunited with their families.

Additionally, on September 15, intelligence indicated further terrorist plans to attack communities in Matazu and Kankara local government areas.
