Troops Eliminate Terrorist Kingpin Abbah Alhassan in Katsina

On September 15, 2026, troops of the Joint Task Force North West, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, neutralised two terrorists, including a known kingpin named Abbah Alhassan, during operations in Katsina State. The troops acted on credible intelligence regarding imminent terrorist attacks targeting communities in Matazu and Kankara local government areas.

Upon reaching the identified terrorist hideout, they engaged the terrorists, resulting in the neutralisation of Alhassan and another terrorist, while others escaped into the bush. During the operation, troops recovered 10 rounds of ammunition, a motorcycle, a cutlass, camouflage clothing, and Indian hemp.

In a separate operation on the same day, two suspected terrorists were arrested in the Yantumaki area of Dan Musa LGA, with preliminary interrogation revealing their alleged connection to a terrorist kingpin named Mannori. The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation as operations continue to disrupt terrorist networks.
