Donald Trump has indicated a willingness to allow AI company Anthropic to collaborate with the Pentagon, reversing a prior decision that blacklisted the firm due to supply chain risk concerns. This development follows a meeting between Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei and White House officials aimed at mending relations.

Trump stated on CNBC's "Squawk Box" that he believes the U.S. will benefit from smart people in AI, suggesting a shift in the administration's stance. Previously, the Pentagon had halted work with Anthropic in February, citing supply chain risks and the need for guardrails on military AI tools.

The recent dialogue between the White House and Anthropic reflects a potential realignment of interests, with the Pentagon seeking the best technology for military applications. Anthropic has also unveiled its advanced AI tool, Mythos, which is designed to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities, indicating the company's ongoing commitment to innovation in AI.
