Oyo State Rescue Highlights Need for Equal Justice

The rescue of abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire local government area in Oyo State, after 56 days in captivity, has been commended nationally. The operation involved coordinated efforts from the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Defence Minister General Christopher Musa praised the intelligence-driven collaboration that led to the successful rescue. The operation also emphasized the role of public advocacy, as civil society organizations and concerned citizens kept the plight of the victims in the public eye.
