El-Rufai Criticizes Tinubu and APC for Abandoning Federalism in Power

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai criticized former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu and the APC for allegedly abandoning federalist principles once in power, despite campaigning for true federalism. El-Rufai emphasized the importance of federalism in fostering unity and development in Nigeria during an interactive session in Imo State.

He highlighted the shift towards centralization since the 1970s, undermining the gains of the First Republic. El-Rufai urged for more power and resources to be devolved to the states, including policing.

He expressed concern that politicians often forget about federalism once in office. The call was made amidst ongoing discussions on restructuring and true federalism in the country.
