El-Rufai Criticizes Tinubu's Government as Worse Than Military Regime

Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, likening it to a greater threat to democracy than any military regime Nigeria has experienced. El-Rufai made the remarks during a discussion at his Kaduna residence with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who was visiting after an attack disrupted the inauguration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.

El-Rufai accused the Tinubu administration of centralizing power and undermining federalism, warning that it could lead to a situation similar to Cameroon's long-ruling President Paul Biya. He expressed concerns about the administration's approach to devolving power to lower levels.
