Peter Okoye Shares Emotional Pregnancy Announcement Story

Nigerian singer and songwriter Peter Okoye, formerly of the music group P-Square, shared a poignant moment from his past in a recent Instagram video. He revealed that at the age of 27, his then-girlfriend, Lola, became pregnant.

To prevent the news from being leaked by others, he chose to announce the pregnancy himself during the Soundcity Awards after receiving an award. He dedicated the award to God, their fans, and notably to the mother of his unborn child.

Following his announcement, his bandmates Jude and Paul reportedly walked out, expressing concerns that the revelation would damage their career. They insisted that Lola should terminate the pregnancy and even forged an email to discredit her, claiming the child was not his and accusing her of attempting to trap him with the pregnancy.
