Emmanuel Nnorom to Succeed Toni Elumelu at UBA

Emmanuel Nnorom has been appointed as the successor to Toni Elumelu as the Group Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), effective August 21, 2026, upon Elumelu's retirement. Nnorom's career spans 40 years in banking and finance, with significant roles including non-executive director at UBA since 2024.

He previously served as the Group Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at UBA, overseeing operations across several African countries and strengthening the bank's pan-African presence. Nnorom also held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Transnational Corporation (Transcorp) from June 2017 to May 2017, where he managed a diverse portfolio in sectors such as finance, healthcare, and energy.

His extensive banking experience includes senior management roles at Standard Trust Bank, Diamond Bank, Nub International Bank, and Liberty Merchant Bank. Nnorom is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

He completed an executive leadership management program at Templeton College, Oxford.
