Sule Alao Malaika Mourns Veteran Actor Ogogo's Death

On August 23, 2026, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, popularly known as Sule Alao Malaika or KS1 Malaika, became visibly emotional during a live performance upon receiving the news of the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, widely celebrated as Ogogo. The video of this moment circulated on social media, showing Malaika in tears as he reflected on Ogogo's character and contributions to the film industry.

He emphasized the unpredictability of death and urged those present to do good and show kindness. Taiwo Babatunde Hassan was born on October 31, 1959, in Ilaro and began his acting career in 1981, becoming a prominent figure in Yoruba-language cinema over more than four decades.

Ogogo passed away at the age of 66 after battling stage 4 cancer. Burial arrangements were set for August 24, 2026, in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.

Solomon Adeola, the APC governorship candidate for Ogun State, also expressed condolences, describing Ogogo's death as a monumental loss to the creative industry.
