Maroof Akinwand, confirmed the incident. The explosion occurred during the transfer of the tanker's content, leading to the loss of lives and destruction of two shops and residential buildings.

Emergency responders, including personnel from the Federal Fire Service and Nigerian Police Force, were deployed to the scene in Akanran Division.
