Ondo Police Arrest Three Suspected Drug Dealers in Akure

The Ondo State Police Command arrested three suspected drug dealers, Fisayo Adedamola, Adeola Oluwaseun, and Adeogun Olumide, during a patrol operation in Akure on July 24. The operation, conducted by the command’s Anti-Cultism Squad, resulted in the recovery of substances suspected to be cannabis, tramadol capsules, codeine syrup, and Tutolin syrup.

Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh stated that the suspects are currently in custody, and the recovered items have been secured as evidence. Ongoing investigations aim to determine the source of the drugs, identify accomplices, and uncover any criminal networks linked to the suspects.

Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu reiterated the command's commitment to addressing the proliferation of illicit drugs, which he noted are significant drivers of violent crimes, including cult-related activities and armed robbery. He urged community members to provide credible information to assist in combating drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
