Lagos APC Holds Peaceful Congress, Elects New Executives

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a congress across 20 local governments, resulting in the election of 27 local executives, contributing to a total of 540 newly elected party officials. Barrister Nungji Salama, the chairman of the screening committee, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and compliance with the party's internal guidelines.

He urged aspirants to serve diligently and avoid conflicts during the electoral process. Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the state chairman of APC, described the congress as a crucial step in strengthening the party's grassroots structure and called for unity and collaboration among members.

He highlighted the importance of inclusivity in leadership, particularly for youth and women, and emphasized adherence to the amended electoral act to ensure transparency. The congress was conducted peacefully, with no major incidents reported, and is expected to shape the APC's grassroots mobilization strategy for upcoming political activities in the state.
