Lagos APC Screens 27 Aspirants for Local Government Congress

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has completed the screening of 27 aspirants for the local government congress set for February 21. The screening exercise took place at the party's state secretariat in Ogba, supervised by members of the local government area ward congress committee.

Barrister Mungji B. Salama, the committee chairman, characterized the process as orderly and without any hitches, noting that no aspirants were disqualified.

He explained that a consensus arrangement was reached among stakeholders, and the outcomes will require formal ratification. Salama emphasized the importance of loyalty to the party and urged aspirants to remain committed, regardless of the screening results.

Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, the Lagos APC chairman, remarked that the party distinguishes itself by inviting independent observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure transparency.

He reiterated the party's commitment to adhering to electoral guidelines and emphasized the need for strict compliance with the electoral act.
