Tinubu Announces 50% Train Fare Discount for Eid

President Bola Tinubu has approved a 50% discount for passengers traveling on the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) services. This initiative aims to alleviate transport costs for Nigerians during the Eid el-Kabir celebration.

The discount will take effect on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and will remain in place until Monday, June 1, 2026. Passengers traveling on NRC routes across the country will be able to pay half of the existing fare during this six-day period.

This measure is part of the government's efforts to support citizens during significant religious festivities.
