Tinubu Approves 959 National Honours and Endorses Police Funding Reforms in Nigeria

Bola Tinubu, a prominent Nigerian politician, approved the conferment of 959 national honors and endorsed sweeping reforms to strengthen the Nigeria Police Force's funding framework. The reforms were ratified during a meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The list of honorees includes global philanthropist Bill Gates, public health contributor Sam Pemu, and sports achievers. Additionally, Tinubu approved far-reaching amendments to the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) to ensure sustainable police reform.

The meeting also saw the increase in NPTF allocation and the removal of the sunset clause to support long-term policing strategies.
