Tinubu Approves Major Road Projects in Niger and Rivers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate reconstruction of three major federal roads in Niger State and the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road to link with the East-West Highway in River State. This decision was made during a meeting with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria's road infrastructure and enhance connectivity across the region.

The three road projects slated for reconstruction in Niger State include the Mokwa-Bida Road (120 km), Mokwa-Makera Road (63 km), and Bida-Lambata Road (123.5 km). The Bodo-Bonny Road project in River State will extend to connect with the East-West Road, boosting economic activity and improving access within the oil-rich region.

The extension will feature a dual carriageway built with reinforced concrete pavement and solar-powered street lights to enhance safety. This initiative is part of the federal government's broader commitment to improving transport infrastructure and promoting economic development nationwide.
