Tinubu Approves Phase 2 of Bodo-Bonny Road Project

President Bola Tinubu has approved the Phase 2 Bodo-Bonny road project in Rivers State, as disclosed by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, during the Medallion Award presentation in Abuja. The project is intended to strengthen national connectivity and improve the quality of road infrastructure.

Umahi urged the Bodo-Bonny community to support Tinubu's re-election in 2027, emphasizing that the completion of the project will reduce insecurity and boost commerce in the Niger Delta. The project aims to connect coastal communities to the mainland, facilitating economic opportunities.

Umahi commended the Bodo-Bonny Peace Committee for their efforts and reiterated the importance of collaboration among stakeholders. The contract for the project has been awarded to Messrs Gitto, who are expected to manage the construction effectively.

The Bodo-Bonny corridor has been recognized as a significant hub for oil and gas activities, yet it has faced challenges due to reliance on water transport. The project is seen as a transformative initiative for the region.
