Tinubu Signs Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2025

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu signed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2025 into law at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This event followed the bill's passage through the National Assembly, where it was reported by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The bill, which includes provisions from Section 60(3), was passed by the National Assembly on Tuesday. Despite facing tough opposition from lawmakers regarding the inclusion of mandatory real-time transmission of election results, the bill successfully navigated through the major chambers of the federal legislature.
