Tinubu Departs Japan For Brazil With Stopover In Los Angeles

President Bola Tinubu has left Japan for Brazil on a state visit, with a stopover in Los Angeles. The journey began on August 15 from Abuja, with a brief stop in Dubai before arriving in Yokohama for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).

President Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and held bilateral meetings during his time in Japan. The statement, signed by his Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the stopover in Los Angeles before continuing to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, for the state visit starting on August 24.

The visit aims to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Brazil, with a focus on engaging with the Nigerian diaspora. President Tinubu's departure from Japan marks the next phase of his diplomatic engagements.
