APC Denies Tinubu's Involvement in Governor Yusuf's Defection to Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) refutes allegations that Bola Tinubu enticed governors like Abba Yusuf to defect, emphasizing that the recent defections were voluntary decisions. Felix Morka, the APC Public Secretary, stated that no one was baited into joining the party.

Abba Yusuf, a political heavyweight in Kano State, recently rejoined APC along with 22 state assembly members and local government chairmen. Abdullahi Ganduje, former APC national chairman, described Yusuf's return as a homecoming due to political differences.

Yusuf cited internal crises and the need to safeguard people's interests as reasons for leaving his former party. His defection to APC aligns with the party's ideology, with him automatically becoming the party leader in Kano State.

The move signifies a significant political realignment in Kano State.
