Tinubu Launches Fund for Wounded Soldiers and Families

On Sunday, during the commemoration of his 74th birthday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the establishment of a dedicated support fund aimed at providing assistance to wounded soldiers and the families of fallen heroes in Nigeria's military. He revealed that he would contribute his salary to seed this fund, reinforcing his commitment to ensuring that the sacrifices made by military personnel are not forgotten.

The fund will be managed through a special account established by the Federal Government, and it aims to provide targeted support to injured service members, widows, and children of those who lost their lives in service to the country. Tinubu called upon state governors, members of the National Assembly, and private sector stakeholders to support this initiative.

He emphasized that the program is not a charity but a duty to fulfill the nation's obligation to care for military families who bear the burden of sacrifice.
