Tinubu Appoints Masari as Senior Special Adviser

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu announced the elevation of Ibrahim Masari to the position of Senior Special Adviser on Political Affairs. This appointment was communicated by Bayo Onanuga, who serves as the Special Adviser to the President on Strategic Communication.

Masari, a politician from Katsina, previously held the role of Senior Special Assistant since 2023 and has been closely aligned with the President. He will work alongside Alhaji Yau Darazo, who was appointed to a similar advisory role in July 2023.

The position of Senior Special Adviser is significant within the presidential hierarchy, typically handling strategic responsibilities and having direct access to the President. Masari's appointment is particularly relevant to the All Progressives Congress (APC) activities in the North West region.

Notably, this appointment does not require Senate confirmation, as he serves at the pleasure of the President.
