Tinubu Celebrates Orji Kalu's Birthday, Praises Contributions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended warm birthday wishes to former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, commending his enduring contributions to national development. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, Tinubu described Kalu as a committed leader whose efforts have significantly impacted Abia State and the country at large.

Kalu currently represents the Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly and served as the Governor of Abia State from 1999 to 2007. President Tinubu acknowledged Kalu's legacy in the state and his ongoing role in national governance.

He highlighted Kalu's contributions in the Senate, where he previously served as Chief Whip and chaired the Senate Committee on Southeast Development Commission (SEDC), a body established to drive development across the Southeast region. Tinubu noted that the SEDC is among several regional development commissions created by his administration to accelerate growth and address infrastructure challenges in various parts of the country.

He further praised Kalu's role in the private sector, describing him as a media mogul and chairman of Slok Holdings, whose business activities contribute to Nigeria's economic development.
