On Thursday night, President Bola Tinubu met with Teslim Folarin, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party's governorship candidate for Oyo State in the 2023 general elections. The meeting took place at Folarin's private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Although the details of the discussions were not disclosed, it comes amid growing speculation about the APC's potential direct involvement in the upcoming 2027 governorship election in Oyo State. Reports indicate that APC leader Sharafadeen Alli is also being considered as a potential governorship candidate, having met with the President earlier.
