Tinubu Meets House Speaker Abass at Aso Rock

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a private meeting with Tajudeen Abass, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and several members of the House at Aso Rock, Abuja. The meeting occurred shortly after the President participated in Friday prayers at the mosque inside the State House.

Details of the discussions were not disclosed, and it was reported that the meeting was brief and did not include the President's official schedule for the day. Tajudeen Abass was accompanied by a few lawmakers, including Usman Kumo, the Chief Whip of the House, representing Akko Federal Constituency in Gombe State, and members of the All Progressives Congress.

The purpose of the visit remains unclear, but it follows a similar meeting earlier in the week between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the President, where the Senate sought automatic tickets for the upcoming 2027 general elections—a request that was not approved, as the final selection of party candidates is to be determined by state governors.
